Making Merry

This year I just want to make things merry as much as possible. I may say that every year, ahem... but it is true. I've hung a few extra strands of twinkle lights, because you can never have too many twinkle lights.
Sigh.
So true.
It makes everything more lovely.

In the late evenings when I can keep my eyes open, I have been watching "The Great British Bake Off" and working on another Unicorn blanket for an order. I'm eagerly anticipating 3 shirt orders to make it here any time... I can't believe how quickly the Christmas rush came and how it changed the shipping from the wholesaler. Before I would have an order in a couple days. It's been almost a week now. (Grant it, Thanksgiving was part of that week... and Black Friday, and Shop Small Saturday, and Cyber Monday)... ack... no wonder it's a little later than normal.
Our Advent wreath is such a happy spot on my table. I plan on getting some of the traditional colors of candles to add, but until then, I have our beeswax candles.
And if all the indoor twinkle lights weren't enough!!! We added outdoor lights this year! Not a ton, but I was soo excited! Here in this picture, Shannon and the boys are hanging them for me. I love driving home in the evening and seeing their light. Yay!
I hope you are enjoying this holiday season. Love on your family. Smile at a stranger. Be there for a friend. Enjoy this life. It's the only one you have... make it count!

Christmas is in FULL swing and I am LOVING every second of it! The making is abundant this year, dabbling in all kinds of fun crafts! Making things to sell on my Etsy, making things for friends, and making things to give! SO much making!
I love trying my hand at new projects and this year is no different. My family blessed me with a heat press for my birthday and I have been making shirts right and left!

Dishtowels!
More shirts!
Tree skirts! LOVE!
Little sister sets... so precious.

Personalizing plush animals.
Still. Always. Crocheting!
And stitching for fun!
It's the MOST wonderful time of the year!

Railroad Field Trip

Last week we had the pleasure of taking a field trip to the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum and we got to ride on one of the oldest railroads in the country! It was a nice cool day and my nephews were out of school and one was able to go along with us! A double treat!

We signed in with our group and waited at the junction. We had so many going we had a railroad car to ourselves.

Our little buddy Ace LOVED the train and was so excited to see the "Choo Choo"! He enjoyed waving at everyone we passed while we were on the train.

Friends!

The air was cool, but the sun was bright!!

Ace was getting pretty sleepy about midway through our ride, and by the time we got to the halfway point, he crashed. While the engine got turned around, we stayed in the car and let him snooze. He's so precious.

But after that he was up and raring to go again! He loved looking at all the replicas. He was a especially fond of this one!

It was a fantastic day!

#wepackedashoebox

Each year I head up the campaign at our church for Operation Christmas Child. Each year it is a blessing, truly. I love this ministry.

We begin collecting items in July and every couple of weeks we list a couple of ideas in our church bulletin for people to bring in. Like... matchbox cars and small dolls, toothbrush and soap, crayons and pencils, etc. And then we pack up around the first and second Sunday in November. Our youth department gathers the items, and if money is given, we go and buy items to pack.

Packing day is always a lot of fun!
The shoeboxes are sent ALL over the world! It's truly amazing. Sending gifts to children who would otherwise get nothing! We may not be that grateful for a hairbrush or a pack of new pencils... but there are children who don't have the simple basic things that we often take for granted. Such an important reminder, for all of us.

If you have never taken part in Operation Christmas Child... check them out! Click the link on the left side of my blog. This week is collection week, so there is STILL time to pack a shoebox and make a difference for a child this Christmas!

Christmas Crafting '17

This year is no different... Christmas crafting is in full swing around here. Lot's of fun ideas floating around and plenty of making to be shared.
This Christmas countdown board is one of my newest items and I have them listed on my Etsy also!
The board is magnetic, you can stick it on your fridge or use a command strip to hang it on your wall. It comes with the decoration on the board and a dry erase marker so you can count down your days with your little Who children.

Country Christmas Scrappy tree skirts are being made again. (these are in my shop also)
This skirt was made for a candy tree. Lot's of bright, pretty colors, candies, and gingerbread! I LOVE how it turned out!

For those who may not want a Grinchy countdown, I have a basic, but pretty Christmas countdown also!
This dons the back of my vehicle. I love it!
I made myself a Buddy shirt.... I think it's my favorite shirt yet!
More Christmas Scrappy Tree skirts.
Crocheting, crafting, and making oh my.
Enjoy your creative time, my friends.
